Description

Goobang is a rural community located approximately 5 kilometers north of the town of Parkes in the central west region of New South Wales. The area is named after the nearby Goobang Creek, which is a tributary of the Lachlan River. The name "Goobang" is derived from the Wiradjuri language and is said to mean "a place where large numbers of kangaroos congregate".
