Description

Westfall Cemetery situated approximately one half mile east of the town of Westfall and one fourth mile from the county road in Malheur County, Oregon. The first death in the community was a John Bouncer killed by the Piute Indians about a mile east of the present site of the cemetery, his grave not in the cemetery but having a marker. The town of Westfall came into being about the year 1889 and the land for the cemetery was donated in 1885 by Sarah Adoline Richie, a daughter of Levi Westfall for whom the town was named. He settled in the valley in the year 1870. There were four acres in the plot of ground, but the deed and all records were destroyed by fire many, many years ago.
