Description

If the cemeteries are located in restricted areas, the first step is to make a phone call to the Range Division. Then, that office checks the calendar to see when the area will be free and clear from military exercises.\n\nRange Division, Directorate of Training at (706) 545-3474\nAt that point, a person from the Range Division will call you and set up a time and meeting place and the Contact will go with you to visit the cemetery.\n\nDon\'t just show up at the office, planning to go see the cemetery without advance scheduling. Visits MUST be cleared with the proper authorities first and put on the calendar. Plan on being on post early as they do stop vehicles. May sure everyone has proper id, vehicle registeration and insurance.\n\nThey have a listing of all graves by name and cemetery locations which was created in the late 1970\'s is available in these offices. I believe that the original listing of the graves was done by Elsie W. Hight in 1977 and is available through the Library in Columbus. Also check them out at Cemeteries\n\nMany of these cemeteries are on-line in the Muscogee County Archives http://www.usgwarchives.org/ga/muscogee.htm\n
