The Jackson Ridge Church Cemetery was established in 1829. This cemetery is a good example of evolving burial customs. Toward the back of the cemetery, older customs are represented, including stacked stone grave houses and breadboard angel headstones. There are also field stones and numerous unmarked graves. As you move closer to the front of the cemetery, you can observe more contemporary headstones from hand-carved early 20th-century headstones to modern, laser cut headstones. --Rutherford County Cemeteries Driving tour.
