Description

This is an older Indian cemetery which is still in use. It is not located in Broken Arrow, Oklahoma. Rather it is in Stone Bluff Township. However, BillionGraves does not allow me to edit the address. As of January 2016, my wife and I have photographed and transcribed every grave site including those with no names or unreadable names. While the cemetery is still being used, there are signs of vandalism and widespread decay. There is a wonderful survey of this old cemetery found at www.ok.gov/wagonercounty/documents/Cmtry-Gibson.pdf. This 2014 survey is very helpful because it is based on earlier surveys and can be used by interested parties to match up grave sites with locations now marked with unreadable markers or mere stones. However, even this survey reflects more than 100 unknown grave sites which is a fairly common problem in these older Indian cemeteries.
