Loney established Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens, located in Carlisle, Pa., in 1957. Historic Carlisle was founded in 1751, and is home to the final resting place of Mary Hays McCauly (otherwise known as Molly Pitcher), the Carlisle Indian School, which was founded in 1879, the U.S. Army War College, and Jim Thorpe. Carlisle is also a large industrial town with many warehouses and distribution centers. Cumberland Valley Memorial Gardens is the second largest cemetery in Carlisle, Westminster Cemetery being the largest. Cumberland Valley has five different garden sections, two outside mausoleums, a cremation columbarium, a veterans’ wall of honor, and a lawn crypt garden.
