Description

The Poor Farm Cemetery as the name suggested was local Bristow cemetery where some of the poor in the community were buried. Today there are very few marked graves. A local Eagle Scout replaced the 77 wooden crosses with steel ones. Local steel company and sandblasting company donated to the cause allowing the old wooden ones to be replaced. http://www.newson6.com/story/24344217/bristow-boy-scout-renews-crosses-at-poor-farm-cemetery. However, the Sapulpa library has collected burial records for many buried there in the 1920s. Much of the material is sourced to the Sullivan Funeral Home in Bristow or Hutchins-Maples in Bristow. The information could contain errors. Again a only a couple of the grave are marked with an individual name so actual location is unknown. In some cases, the records reflect the north or the south side of the Cemetery.
