Colwood Pioneer Cemetery is administered by the City of Colwood. Area is approx one acre donated by Alfred T. Peatt. This cemetery predates Hatley Memorial Gardens and was never a part of Colwood Burial Park or Hatley Memorial Gardens. Cemetery contains approximately 175 burials. Thirty of the burials are unmarked. The first burial is believed to be that of Mrs. Jane Veitch in 1899. The cemetery is oriented in a southwest to northeast direction . The four corners of the cemetery are 48.439,-123.487883; 48.438522,-123.487297; 48.438262,-123.4877793; and 48.438779, -123.488347. This cemetery is distinct from the commercial Arbor Memorial Company - Hatley Memorial Gardens. It is also seperate from the St John The Baptist Cemetery situated on the other side of Glencairn Lane, Colwood.
