Charlton Cemetery, Dover

Accessed from the gated entrance where Roman Road meets Old Charlton Road, Charlton Cemetery is one of four Cemeteries in this location. This 10 acre site was opened in approximately 1872 for burials at a time when the population of this busy port town of Dover was increasing rapidly. Within the cemetery you will find a mass of history chiseled into the tombstones and headstones.
