Dec. 4, 1924, in Montgomery, Ala., he moved to the area from Bowie, Md.,
in 1986. He was a retired communications engineer with Communication
Aeronautical Radio in Annapolis, Md., a U.S. Air Force veteran of World
War II, was past exalted ruler and member of the Kissimmee Elks Lodge
No. 1873, a legionnaire and member of the Kissimmee Moose Lodge No.
2056, a Silver Beaver with the Boy Scouts of America, Bowie, Md., St.
Cloud Lodge No. 221, F.& A.M., Scottish Rite Bodies and Bahia Shrine
Temple, both of Orlando, and was past president and member of the
Osceola Shrine Club. He was a member of the First United Methodist
Church, St. Cloud. Survivors include his wife, Evelyn "Pat" Wilson;
daughter, Deborah Lynn Glueck, both of St. Cloud; son, John Wilson Jr.,
Bermuda; sister, Lois Jean Conrad, Miami; brother, James L. Wilson,
Dunnellon; three grandchildren; two nieces; six nephews; and two aunts.
Services were held March 7 from the Grissom chapel with the Rev. Dr.
Charles R. Bruce of the First United Methodist Church, St. Cloud,
officiating. The Elks Funeral Ritual was conducted by the ritual team of
Kissimmee Elks Lodge. The Masonic Ritual was conducted by Officers of
St. Cloud Lodge No. 221, F.& A.M. Interment followed in Woodlawn
Memorial Park, Orlando. Grissom Funeral Home, Kissimmee, was in charge
of local arrangements.
