Dear father of Margaret Ladner (Gord), Barry (Ann), Wendy Stanhope (Brian), Lorrie Cudmore (Carl) and Shelley MacLean (Robert). Father-in-law of Kim Moore. Loving grandfather of Adam (Veronica), Amanda, Crystal (Mitch), Justin, Jarred, Ryan, Lucas, Daniel (Emma), Darcy (Grace), Cody (Laura), Katelyn (Pat) and Bethany. Great-grandfather of Brett, Maverick, Vienna and Kyle. Brother of Alvin, Shirley, Fran and Heather. Remembered by special friend Janet Phelan. The Allied soldiers quickly break through the Atlantic Wall and push inland in the largest amphibious military operation in history. The Allies of World War II, called the United Nations from the 1 January 1942 declaration, were the countries that together opposed the Axis powers during the Second World War (1939–1945). The Allies promoted the alliance as a means to control German, Japanese and Italian aggression.
