Iver arrived in Utah September 27, 1853 in the Moses Daily Company. He married Catherine Williams January 20, 1854. The early Pleasant Grove Ward records show that Iver Nicholison Iverson consecrated to The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints $427.10 on February 16, 1855. Iver and Catherine were sealed by the Prophet Brigham Young in the Endowment House in Salt Lake City May 27, 1856. They lived in a dugout in Pleasant Grove, Utah. He was called to serve a mission in Denmark; and served 1857-1858. Upon completing his mission, he was given the responsibility of bringing a group of Danish saints to Utah. Upon arriving in Utah several of the Danish saints expressed a desire to go with him to his home in Pleasant Grove. He let one of these families live in a dugout on his property.

Charles Robert Darwin, was an English naturalist, geologist and biologist, best known for his contributions to the science of evolution. He established that all species of life have descended over time from common ancestors and, in a joint publication with Alfred Russel Wallace, introduced his scientific theory that this branching pattern of evolution resulted from a process that he called natural selection, in which the struggle for existence has a similar effect to the artificial selection involved in selective breeding.

After having established his reputation as a portrait painter, in his middle age Morse contributed to the invention of a single-wire telegraph system based on European telegraphs. He was a co-developer of the Morse code and helped to develop the commercial use of telegraphy.
