Wayne Robert Bancroft, 24, beloved son, cherished brother, grandson, nephew, uncle and friend peacefully returned home on Thursday, May 3rd, 2007 with his loving family by his side. He was born in Montreal, Quebec, Canada on August 3rd, 1982, the youngest of eight children, to William M. and Elsie Prior Bancroft. He relocated with his family to Calgary, Alberta, Canada in 1985 then to Provo, Utah in 1987. Wayne attended Edgemont Elementary School, Ivy Hall Academy, and Timpview High School. He most recently attended Utah Valley State College where he was close to receiving his degree in Business. Wayne enjoyed socializing with his many friends. He was the life of the party. He knew how to make people laugh, to win friends and influence people. He earned his Eagle Scout in the year 2000 and received his award August 2, 2001. Wayne is a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and enjoyed several callings and responsibilities. He always had a great desire to serve a mission as it was his way to express his deep love and gratitude for the atoning sacrifice of our Lord. He waited with great anticipation for his call to serve. He was honored to serve in the England, London South Mission from August 2001 to August 2003. Wayne served with honor, integrity and love. As a participant and spectator, Wayne enjoyed sports. He played football, basketball, soccer, baseball, but his greatest love was golf. Often referred to as "The Trip of All Trips" he and brother Jonathan, and brother-in-law Mike, toured the East Coast attending five Major League Baseball games from New York City to Boston and Washington, D.C. in June 2005. His favorite team is the Boston Red Sox.Although he loved the games he most importantly loved the time he spent with his favorite guys. They were planning Phase Two of "The Trip of All Trips". Wayne's greatest love is his Heavenly Father, his Savior Jesus Christ, and his family. He will be dearly missed by his family, friends and all who knew him. We have no doubt that his missionary skills will continue to be greatly utilized. Wayne is survived by his parents, seven loving brothers and sisters, Jeff (Carla), Carolyn (Tom) Andrews, Steven (Emily), Lianne (Michael) Gardner, Sandra (Adam) Poche, Jonathan, Arlene, seventeen nieces and nephews and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. He is preceeded in death by his grandparents, David and Dorothy Bancroft and Joseph and Elsie Prior and his aunt Anne Elizabeth Prior.
