The "Bike Ride"

Contributor: Anne Ryan Created: 2 years ago Updated: 2 years ago

Dad was a good teacher, and loved children. When Val was in Boy Scouts, Dad was his leader, and it was decided that they were going to get the Biking Merit badge as a Troop. Dad had so much fun helping the boys get ready, and deciding on the 50 miler. They decided to bike down from Strawberry Reservior on the Diamond Fork Dirt Road. The road back then was steep and bumpy. Dad followed up with a truck and fixed bikes, and knees as needed. When they finally made it back to the Mapleton White Church it was a happy bunch of young men, but I think my Dad was the most proud. The boys loved him and he loved working with them.
