Changing Water With Grandpa Roundy

Contributor: kdbulloch Created: 3 months ago Updated: 3 months ago

My Grandpa decided to take me one day to switch the waterlines at his property in Alton, Utah. I enjoyed this experience because he showed me a lot of things in this town that he grew up, shared memories and we talked about our ancestors.

Grandma and Grandpa Roundy’s poem

Contributor: kdbulloch Created: 3 months ago Updated: 3 months ago

This is the poem Aunt Vickie wrote for us after grandma and grandpa passed away. HAND IN HAND WITH MY WINK AND YOUR SMILE This guy from Alton would earn a degree, He’d be a forester and work with the trees. When Glenda met Vern, they were in the same ward. They took to each other. It wasn’t so hard. He had a wink and she had smile and they wanted to marry and not just for a while. In Logan temple on a beautiful hill, they promised together do the Lord’s will. He took her hand ‘cross the alter of God. And they vowed together, they would hold to the rod. An eternal family started that day, and hand in hand they went on their way. The Roundy family added a cute baby boy, and Richard soon filled their lives with great joy. With so much love, they added another and Kurtis became Richard’s first baby brother. A house full of boys was really quite fun and then Jared came and they still weren’t done! Debbie was added, a cute little girl. With a houseful of men, she made their heads twirl. Dale came next, just as cute as the others. His sister loved him and so did his brothers. Glenda thought. “Are we finally done?” but Dale prayed hard for the very last one! Sheryl surprised them, but there was room for her too. Yes, the Roundy family became quite a crew. Each one was loved from their head to their toes. There were baseballs and footballs and dresses and bows. They laughed and they played those sisters and brothers. Their parents soon taught them to cherish each other. The children each married and the love circle grew, with babies to snuggle and not just a few. Vern worked in the temple ‘til health started to fail. But he still showed his love to his family so well. He worked with his hands making treasures of wood. Each a reminder that life is soooo good! He was taken from earth, we thought way too fast. As a loving Father said, “Your test is now passed. Come home to me now, I’ll give you some rest, but not for too long, there are lives here to bless.” With Vern’s recent passing, Glenda was sad. And she told him, quite frankly, that he made her mad. “How could you leave me, you’re the love of my life?” You are my sweetheart, you made me your wife!” Vern listened to Glenda, he missed her too “It won’t be long, I’ll be coming for you! The kids aren’t so ready but, they will be fine. We’ve got work here in heaven for our Father Divine.” “He’s blessed us so richly with family and love, Now we’ll hasten the work of our Father above. There’s many to teach that have passed from this earth. We’ll explain temple covenants and share the Christ’s birth.” We won’t be so far, when our kids need us near. And if they do right, they’ll have no need to fear. I’ll give them my wink and you give them your smile. And they’ll feel God’s peace as they endure every trial. We’ll still love our family that doesn’t change here and they’ll still feel us close as they wipe away tears. We’ve trusted in God as we’ve journeyed through trials. Now let’s walk hand in hand with my wink and your smile.” With cherished love for two very dear people. Vickie Bott 2014

Christmas poem from aunt Vicki

Contributor: kdbulloch Created: 3 months ago Updated: 3 months ago

This is the Christmas poem from aunt Vicki HARK THE ROUNDY ANGELS SING! Heaven seems so far away but, it really is quite near Especially for two Angels watching loved ones oh so dear. We miss the hugs and teasing, but there is work that we must do. It never will diminish the love we have for each of you. We’re hastening the work for our Savior and King. There are souls bound in prison ‘til the gospel we bring. There is Heavenly joy when they receive His great light, And when feeling His love, their souls really take flight. Cherish the truth, you have been taught while on earth, Of the Savior’s pure life and His heavenly birth. He gave His life for each one of you. Your sins He has ransomed by tears not a few. Saying, “Father from me remove this cup, yet if Thou wilt I’ll drink it up.” He gave His life, suffering your trials and your pain. Don’t let His atonement for you be in vain. He gave His love fully for each one of you. Be true to your faith, let your goodness shine through. To share His love with the souls over here Is a privilege we cherish from our Savior so dear. He loves you, our dear ones, hold tight to the rod His love will surround you, as the true Son of God. There are feelings so sacred we are longing to share But just know you are sheltered under His tender care. We know you miss us and we miss you too, But as He hastens the work, we have errands to do. We miss you our family, as we serve here above, But our gifts seems small when compared to His love. Stay close to each other and wipe each other’s tears, We’ll all be together in not too many years. Stay loyal and true to His words you know well, We watch all your goodness, and you make our hearts swell. When you sing Christmas songs, we’ll singing to you, You have angels in Heaven that love ALL of you! Vickie Bott Scribe for the Roundy Angels 2014
