My Brother Troy

Contributor: mromelfanger Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

Troy was about 5 years older than me. He loved to laugh. Just thinking about his giggle makes me smile. He liked to tease and pester me (as an older brother would) But he was so funny. One Sunday after church I was doing cartwheels, and he proclaimed that he could do one better than I. He just went around the room doing goofy cartwheels as his Sunday socks would dangle from his feet. He was sort of a wild child too. I can't remember who dared him to get a mow hawk once, and when he got home, mom freaked out. He loved to be with cousins, aunts , uncles and friends. He was quite social. I see a lot of my son Kymball in him now. Interesting that he is named after him. He did love baseball and loved being outdoors. Troy passed away at the age of 14. It was tremendously difficult for my parents, but they always seemed to be graceful about it. I'm certain it is because of their understanding eternal families. I'm so grateful for this knowledge too, as it has brought light to an otherwise hopeless tragedy. I know that Troy is smiling down on us each day. I love the gospel of Jesus Christ, that He died to save us all...and so our families will be able to see our sweet "Troyboy" again.
