Daily Herald, The 8-25-1943 Edgemont Thomas Farnsworth is in a critical condition at the Utah Valley hospital, following a major operation when his leg had to be amputated above the knee. Mr Farnsworth had his leg amputated ten days ago, following an infection of several weeks duration Herald, The 9-12-1943 Provo T. W. Farnsworth Called by Death Thomas William Farnsworth, 81, died Friday at his home in Edgemont of an infection of the leg. He was born January 2, 1862 in Lankershire, England, and came to Utah in 1874, settling in Mt. Pleasant. He attended school in England and joined the L.D.S. church while there. November 11, 1891, he married Miss Caroline Ernstsen in the Manti temple. They made their home in Salt Lake City until 1932 when they moved to Edgemont. He was an active member of the Church and was a high priest at the time of his death. He is survived by his widow; a son and a daughter, Ravol T. Farnsworth of Edgemont and Mrs. Elsie Perry of Ogden; seven grandihildren; two sisters and a brother, Mrs. Martha Walton of Provo, Mrs. Mary Eckersley of New Manchester, England, and John G. Farnsworth of Lankershire, England. Funeral services will be Tuesday at 1:30 p. m. in the Edgemont L.. D. S. ward chapel. Friends may call Monday evening at the Berg mortuary and Tuesday'prior to services at the family home. Burial will be in the Provo city cemetery. The Daily Herald Sep 16, 1943 Provo Thursday Thom. W. Farnworth Funeral services for Thomas W. Farnsworth were conducted Tuesday in the Edgemont ward with David L. Rowley Jr. of the bishopric in charge. Speakers were William F. Wiscombe, George Graham and Bishop Wilford R. Stubbs. Music included two selections by the Edgemont ward quartet consisting of Herman S. Richards, William F. Wiscombe, Clarence Brereton and Elmo Brereton, accompanied by Mrs. Richards; duet by Afton Penrod and Herman S. Richards; solo by Reva Fugal. Processional and recessional music by Ward Organist Christine Bipler. The opening and closing prayers were by Ralph Meldrom and O. C. Mariotti, respectively, with the dedicatory prayer by David L.
