Notes: unior Theodore "Ted" Goldsberry, 81, of East Moline, died Oct. 3, 2006, at Trinity Medical Center, West Campus, Rock Island. Services are 10 a.m. Friday at St. Mary's Catholic Church, Hampton, where he was a member. Visitation is 4 to 7 p.m. today at the church with a rosary recited at 3:30 p.m. Additional visitation is 9 a.m. to services Friday at the church. Burial is in National Cemetery, Arsenal Island. Schroder Mortuary, Silvis, is in charge of arrangements. Memorials may be made to the church or charity of choice. He was born March 17, 1925, in Keokuk, Iowa, son of Theodore Henry and Blanche Ann Wilsey Goldsberry. He married Helen Catherine Steffensmeier Aug. 25, 1943, in Iowa City. She died March 5, 2002. He was a son of a Union veteran of the Civil War. He served in the Navy during World War II and in the Korean Conflict. He received the Purple Heart. He was a graduate of Palmer College of Chiropractic. He enjoyed golf, travel and doing magic tricks. He was a sergeant in the Rock Island Police Force, detective and identification officer, former president of the Rock Island Police Union and of the Illinois Division of International Association for Identification, a member of the East Moline American Legion and VFW. He retired as a self-employed long haul, over-the-road trucker. Survivors (and spouses) include his children, Ted (Joan) Goldsberry, Bettendorf, Kathy (Dan) Cook, Silvis, and Marsha (Ron) Remy, Moline; grandchildren, Brandon Goldsberry, Dr. Grant (Dr. Jodi) Goldsberry, Ken Legendre (fiancee, Courtney Wood), Derek Cook, Ronda (Tim) Young, Robbie (Randy) Bostic, Rolanda (Nich) Boyce; six great-grandchildren.
