Grandma Ball was a wonderful cook, I really enjoyed her carrot cookies and "burnt fried potatoes". My mother did not cook with very much grease and Grandma did and to me they looked "burnt", but they really tasted good. Grandma enjoyed making things, made beautiful quilts, tatted, crocheted. Grandma and my aunts made me a beautiful star quilt for when I graduated from high school. I helped Grandma in her later life to knit a sweater for Grandpa. It sure was fun. After all the children left and there was just Grandma and Grandpa, she would sometimes store things in the oven of the stove. So, when you went to cook anything you had to check the oven before you turned it on. Grandma forgot a time or two to do this. Grandma also enjoyed doing genealogy and so do I. We enjoyed working on it together. I really enjoyed looking at the pictures in her album and hearing her stories about the people.
