Steven Alfred Turner 1952 ~ 2006 BRIGHAM CITY - On the evening of October 17, 2006 Steven Alfred Turner found peace amongst the wilderness he loved. He left behind his children to mourn his passing: sons, John and Jourdan; and daughter, Savannah. His departure also breaks the hearts of his brothers and sisters, Gordon, Lorraine, Rosalie, Bill, Ellen, and Hazel. Steve was preceded in death by his son, Adam; both parents; and sister, Katie. Steve was born October 20, 1952 to Elenor Delores Stensby and Marshall Hughes Turner in Oakland, California. He was most happy in the mountains and valleys of Northern Utah where in his youth he excelled in sports at Box Elder High School. He is remembered by his family and friends as an honest, hard working, and generous man who cherished his children, loved a good joke, and enjoyed sharing the harvest from his garden. Steve was retired from the Union Pacific Railroad and went on to pursue other goals. Services for Steve will be held Monday, October 23, 2 p.m. at Myers Mortuary in Roy, Utah, 5865 South 1900 West, where a viewing will be held from 12:45-1:45 p.m. prior to services. May Steve find the solace he was looking for. We'll always love you. The barrier included guard towers placed along large concrete walls, accompanied by a wide area that contained anti-vehicle trenches, "fakir beds" and other defenses.
