Star Dreamer (poem written by Ronda)

Contributor: Anne Ryan Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

The stars dropped from the heavens, And sizzled out in the cold; They forgot their place in the skies, And lost dreams to hold. The sparkling lites hit the earth; Intermingling with hard hearts, they froze. Cruel reality buried them in earth, And killed all star seekers. Still, one voice remained, To carry all the stars back home. Steadily still, a path finder, who never waned In her dreams; she was never alone. She never forgot the good times That had lifted her to the starlite above. She spoke out, and asked for the best, And then, the sky exploded! The stars dazzled brilliantly; Star seekers arose; Path finders continued their travels, And the good times lived on and on As the stars whispered, "In the starlite, I dream, In dreams, I shall never again die!"

The Deceiving Peaches

Contributor: Anne Ryan Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

Ronda would have been 60 years old today. I would like to relate one of my favorite stories about Ronda. We would help each other out in groceries. If she had something extra she would share and I likewise. One day she asked if I wanted to check out the garbage bin by Albertson's off of Anderson Street. We climbed down the ladder in to the bin. In our search we spotted a box of peaches with individual cardboard layers with holes for each peach. They looked perfect! After we arrived back at her trailer house we cut open a peach. To our surprise it was spoiled. The rest of them were the same. We couldn't help but laugh at those deceiving peaches.
