When the golden sun is setting

and the shadows of the night come down

There is one less face in prominence

There is sorrow in our town.

We have lost a leader and companion

One who has left this world today

and it's with a great deal of sorrow

we learned that he's done away

the nation's head has tumbled

the world we know is not as tall

but we remember. He's just a man after all.
