Stanley W. Olsen 12/07/10 ~ 09/28/03 MAGNA - Our beloved husband, father, and grandfather, Stanley Wilford Olsen, 92, passed away Sept. 28, 2003 after a brief illness. Stan was born December 7, 1910 in Vineyard, Utah to Ole and Harriet Olsen. He married Evalyn Orton on March 21, 1933; their marriage was later solemnized in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. Stan had been a trapper since childhood and had a variety of other jobs, including a painter and wallpaper hanger in Garfield for Utah Copper Co. He operated the water pumps and drove a truck for Kennecott Copper until retiring in 1972. he was an active member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, having served 15 years as scoutmaster, counselor in the YMMIA, magazine representative, secretary to the High Priest Group, temple worker in the Jordan River Temple, and home teacher. Survived by his wife; seven children, Emma Lee (Nile) Peterson, Carol Dean (Kelvin) Brown, Darel (Barbara) Olsen, Delila Jo (Dennis) Jensen, Eva Ruth (Carl) Jones, Doniela (Ronald) Shoemaker, and Georgia Lynn Bello; 44 grandchildren; 129 great- grand-children; and 29 great-great- grandchildren. Preceded in death by infant son, Lamont. Funeral services will be held 11 a.m. Friday, October 3, 2003 at the Magna East Stake Center, 2875 South 8000 West. Friends may call Thursday 6-8 p.m. at Peel Funeral Home, 8525 West 2700 South, and Friday 10-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment: Pleasant Grove Cemetery.
