The Deaths are caused by accidental Drowning on the Nemaha River near Bakers Ford, June 17, 1883.

Description

Mary, Sarah, Elvina, and Birtha Borom, were all in a wagon driven by Mr. Akers, when they tried to escape the rising waters and were swept off the road into the Nemaha River. Her mother Ann Borom was the only survivor.Note: A long article ,about the flood, in the Seneca Tribune, June 22, 1883 can be found on microfilm.
