Get tickled for 5 minutes or do the dishes

Contributor: mario63nj Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

When I was 9 or 10 years old, it was my turn to do the family dinner dishes. I hated doing the dishes. Linda, who would have been 19 or 20 at the time, made me an offer: if she could tickle me for five minutes, she would do the dishes. I took her up on it, thinking anything was better than doing the dishes. We went into the front room and I laid down on my back. Linda started tickling my stomach - she knew all my ticklish spots. I couldn't stand it! I think I lasted less than 1 minute and starting begging her to stop. She said, "Ok, but you'll have to do the dishes." I cried out, "I will! I will!" I learned that day that there was actually something I wanted to avoid more than doing the dishes. Linda could have been a professional tickler.
