KENNETH PINEGAR Obituary | Condolences KENNETH PINEGAR Obituary Kenneth J. Pinegar 1927 ~ 2010 Kenneth J. Pinegar peacefully passed away Monday, August 2, 2010. He was our beloved husband, father and grandfather. He was the son of Edward Levi Pinegar and Mary Adeline Jolley, born October 31, 1927 in Provo, Utah. Ken married his sweetheart Ruth Lovina Richardson April 14, 1949 in the Salt Lake Temple. He is survived by his wife and seven children, Richard K. (Laura) Pinegar of Caldwell, ID, Gary L. Pinegar of Spanish Fork, Suzanne (Alan) Osmond of Orem, UT, Laurie (Stan) Smith of Alta Loma, CA, Robyn (John) Knab of Sandy, Brian J. (JaNece) Pinegar of Las Vegas, NV, and Karen (Gene) Bergmann of Provo. He is also survived by 39 grandchildren and 39+ great-grandchildren; along with siblings Elaine (Norley) Hall of Springville, UT, Lucille (Elden) Andrus of Spanish Fork, UT, Annie Joy (J. Richard) Jones of Orem, UT, and Dale E. Pinegar of Pleasant Grove, UT. Preceded in death by his parents and son-in-law, John M. Christensen. Ken was a faithful member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. He served in many callings, including Bishop of the Spanish Fork 4th and 7th Wards, High Council, and ordinance worker in the Provo Temple. He and Ruth also served in the Minnesota Minneapolis Mission. He leaves a legacy of selfless service and a testimony of the gospel of Jesus Christ. As a child he learned the value of hard work from his father and mother on their farm. He attended BYU and Stevens/Henager Business College. Ken was an entrepreneur at heart. He was a commercial building contractor, owner/operator of PHD Trucking, and a public servant as a Spanish Fork City Councilman and Utah County Commissioner. Many projects were handled with a handshake along with his motto, "My word is my bond." He had a reputation of absolute honesty. He was a man of few words; when he shared his thoughts, all listened and respected his wisdom. His family and friends have learned so much from his example of integrity, common sense, dependability, and hard work. He will be greatly missed. Funeral services will be Friday, August 6, at 12 p.m. at the 7th Ward Chapel, 400 North 800 East, Spanish Fork, UT. A viewing will be held at Walker Mortuary, 187 S. Main, Spanish Fork, Thursday, August 5, 6-8 p.m. and prior to the funeral services at the church 10-11:30 a.m. Condolences may be sent to www.walkerfamilymortuary.com

In addition to the shootings, the complex and highly planned attack involved a fire bomb to divert firefighters, propane tanks converted to bombs placed in the cafeteria, 99 explosive devices, and car bombs. The perpetrators, senior students Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold, murdered 12 students and one teacher. They injured 21 additional people, and three more were injured while attempting to escape the school. The pair subsequently committed suicide.
