OBITUARY KARL H. SEIFERT Published Salt Lake Tribune December 26, 1999 WEST POINT--Karl Halverson Seifert, 67, passed away at his home, Tuesday, Dec. 21, 1999 following a courageous battle against renal cell cancer. He was born March 24, 1932 in Ogden, Utah to Otto Karl Heinrich and Edna Watson Halverson Seifert. He was educated in Ogden City Schools and graduated from Weber High School. He married Shirley Jean Weir, June 1, 1951 in the Logan Temple. They were later divorced. He married LaRae Day, December 28, 1967 in Elko, Nevada. They were sealed in the Ogden Temple, February 24, 1990. Karl was a High Priest in the West Point 1st Ward. Karl was an avid outdoorsman. He spent his entire life farming, horseracing, and hunting. He enjoyed music and loved to dance. He is survived by his wife, LaRae; four children, Karl Alan (Sharon) Seifert; Susan L. (Sam) Herzog; Dan J. (Sharon) Seifert; Sherrie J. (Richard) Almeida; two stepchildren, Richard A (Liliane) Davies; Joyce A. (Douglas) Summers; 18 grandchildren and seven great grandchildren. He is also survived by his father, Otto; three sisters and one brother. He was preceded in death by his mother, Edna, and one son, Larry. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 27, 1999 at 11 a.m. at the West Point 1st Ward Chapel, 4383 West 300 North, West Point. Family friends may call at Myers Mortuary, 5865 South 1900 West, Roy, on Sunday, December 26, 1999 from 6-8 p.m. and from 9:45-10:45 a.m. at the church. Interment in the West Point City Cemetery. The family would like to extend their thanks to I.H.C. Homecare Services and a special thank you to Shirley Hatch. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to the Huntsman Cancer Institute.

OBITUARY KARL ALAN SEIFERT Memorial Provided by Myers Mortuary - Roy-October, 2007 WEST POINT - Karl Alan Seifert departed our lives unexpectedly on Saturday, October 20, 2007 from a possible heart attack. He was born March 27, 1952 to Karl Halverson and Shirley Jean Weir Seifert. He was raised in Roy Utah and graduated from Roy High School. He married his "best" friend and playtime companion Sharon (Sherry) Iwaniec, May 19, 1984. Together they raised two great daughters, Julie and Jackie. Alan's wife and children were the "soul" of his worldly existence. As a family, a lifetime of loving memories will forever be imprinted in our hearts. Alan was a hard worker and was currently employed as a mechanic at Hill Air Force Base. He worked several construction type jobs prior to that. He loved working with his hands and being outdoors. For the past eight years, his pride and joy was the maintenance of the family farm. Alan was an avid outdoorsman. He loves skiing, snowmobiling, camping, fishing, hunting, horseracing, farming, and enjoyed all of those activities better if family and friends were there to enjoy it too. He was always seen with the grimy "Ed Kenley" mug filled with coffee or his favorite beverage. Surviving are his wife Sherry Seifert and daughters Julie and Jackie all of West Point; stepmother LaRae Seifert, West Point; stepfather Leon (Marsha) Walling, Ogden; mother-in-law, LuDean (Gene) Morrison Burton; sisters Susan (Jare) Elbrader, West Point and Sherrie (Richard) Almedia, Roy; brothers Dan Seifert, Ogden Kelly (Lisa) Walling, Ogden; John (Shauna) Walling, Hooper; stepbrother Richard (Lili) Davies, Lynnwood, Washington; sisters-in-law Debbie (Roger) Schaffer, Roy; Brenda Lashbrook, Portland, Oregon; Annette Andonian, Fresno, California; Linda (Scott) Mooney, Parchute, Colorado; Jodi (Steve) Sniggs, Ogden and several special aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, nephews, and friends. He was preceded in death by his mother, father, brother Larry Seifert; stepsister, Joyce Summers, aunt LouAnn Field, father-in-law Bob Morrison, and grandparents. Funeral services will be held Thursday, October 25, 2007 at 11 a.m. at Myers Roy Mortuary 5865 S. 1900 W. Friends may call on Wednesday from 6 to 8 p.m. and on Thursday from 9 to 10:45 a.m. prior to services. Interment West Point Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, the family suggests donations to a charity of your choice. The family would like to thank all the family and friends for their support and a very "Special" thanks to everyone that provided a quick response and life saving effort.

She married Lloyd Leon Walling on October 15, 1965 in Las Vegas, Nevada. She was raised in Roy and attended Weber County Schools. Shirley enjoyed camping, hunting, fishing and boating with her family and friends. Surviving are her husband Leon Walling, Roy; her mother, Thelma Weir, Roy; five sons and two daughters, Alan Seifert (Sharon), West Point; Susan Herzog (Sam), Roy; Dan Seifert (Sharon), Washington Terrace; Sherry Almeida (Richard), Roy; Larry Seifert Bountiful; Kelly Walling (Lisa), Roy; and John Walling (Shauna), Roy. Also surviving are 21 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren, one brother and one sister Jack Weir (Joanne), Roy; and ReNae Barker (LaMar), Roy. She was preceded in death by her father and grandparents. She will be greatly missed by her family and friends. Graveside services will be held Tuesday at 11 a.m. at the Roy City Cemetery, 5300 S. 2300 W. Friends may meet the family at Myers Mortuary in Roy 5865 S. 1900 W. from 9:30 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday.
