Joy Anne Thomas,61,of Augusta, WV passed away on February 1,2013 at UVA Hospital in Charlottesville,Va. Born on September 24,1951 in Cleveland, Ohio, she was the daughter of the late James and Sarah (Farrabee) Sommerville. Joy taught school in Hampshire County where she was the sponsor for HOSA. She was a member of the Hampshire County Relay for Life and a member of the Tearcoat Church of the Brethren. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and teacher. Surviving is her husband, Olan Thomas, eight daughters: Tina Hall, of Stockport, Ohio, Christina Jackson, of Nashville, TN, Tennile Martin, of Mt. Nebo, WV, Samantha Ames of Winchester, VA, Amanda Cramer of Stephens City, VA, Makiala Whitacre, Alisa Thomas, Kyla Thomas, all of Augusta; three sisters: Gail Kovar of North Royalton, Ohio, Mary Nickum, Michelle Rodrigues, both of Cleveland, Ohio; a brother, Timothy Sommerville, of Cleveland, Ohio, and nineteen grandchildren. Joy was preceded in death by a daughter, Sheri Cristea, and two sisters, Debbie Kane and Betty Kovar. Funeral services will be on Monday, February 4, 2013 at the Tearcoat Church of the Brethren at 11:00 A M with Pastor Thomas Rowan officiating. The family will recieve friends on Sunday from 2-4 & 7-9 at the McKee Funeral Home, Augusta, WV. All arrangements are under the direction of McKee Funeral Home in Augusta, WV.
