(Entered by Joseph Fletcher per info received from Harvey's son Stephen) 1918 Born 6 Feb. at the home of Calvin and Susette Fletcher on 2nd East & 5th South. 1922 Went to Provo with parents on train 1924 Started school but taken out due to bad health. Had tonsils and adenoids out. 1925 Started school again with little interruption. Mother died of sugar diabetes. Spent three weeks on Uncle Heber's farm. 1926 Baptized in Logan Temple and made frequent visits to do baptisms fir the dead. One time being baptized for 1100 names in one day. Dad married Clara Irene Thompson on Dec. 23rd. 1927 Went with family to Timpanogas summer school Sara, Dean, and i saw a man drive off the road above camp but was not hurt. 1928 Went with family to Weiser, Id to visit Irene's folks. We had an open Touring Studebaker. 1929 Started Jr. High. Finished Primary. Toured Yellowstone. 1930 Ordained a Deacon by father. 1932 Completed Jr. Seminary and Jr. High. 1933 Ordained Teacher by father. Worked summer at Randall's near Idaho Falls. 1934 Worked near Oxford, Idaho at Aaron Allen's ranch. 1935 Worked at Allen's. 1936 Worked at Allen's. Hiked through Yellowstone. Ordained a Priest. 1937 Worked in Beaver on Sara's ranch. Started college. 1938 Worked at Randall's. 1939 Took Institute classes only. Called to Japanese Mission in Hawaii; 27th missionary in Mission. 1940 War started in Europe. 1941 World War II started. 1942 Worked at North American Aircraft near Los Angeles, Cal. Entered Air Corps. Went to Fort Douglas for tests and clothes. 1943 Deming Army Air Base for Basic Training work. 1944 Denver (Lowry Field) for Armament School, five months. Las Vegas Army Air Base for Gunnery School, three months. Lincoln, Neb. for crew assignment & to Italy. 1945 Foggia, Italy Air Base on B17 and flying on bomber missions over Europe. 13 missions. Returned home. Discharged. 1946 Entered college again. Went to L.A. to work, Aircraft and carpentry. 1947 College and summers at Allen's in Soda Springs. 1948 College and summers working. 1950 Graduated from UAC with B.S. in Industrial Technology Called back in US Air Force. Spokane, Wash., Tampa, Florida, Tucson, Arizona. 1951 Randolph Air Force Base, Texas. Crew training, to Mt. Home, Id, special training. 1952 Mt. Home and other points, had appendix out in Idaho Falls. Married Esther Walz in Idaho Falls Temple. Went to Tripoli, Libya. 1953 Mostly in Tripoli, but visited other places in Europe, Asia Minor. 1954 Returned to States via ship. Very stormy. Met Esther in New Jersey. Visited Dean and family. N.Y. Detroit, Got car, drove to Ut, then Lowry A.F.B. in Denver 1955 Was operated on for a piocidial cyst. In hospital for 2 mos. Linda was born about a month after I got out. Couldn't get leave so had Irene out for two weeks. 1956 Visited in Ut & Id from Denver. Doing drafting, keep up maps, checking Utilities. 1957 Stephen was born. Was made head draftsman over all military draftsmen. Instructor in 70's quorum of Denver 4 ward. Re-enlisted for 6 more years in A.F. 1958 Had leave & went to Ut, Id, Yellowstone; Folks visited for awhile after Herb to Ft. Collins; Was sent to Okinawa. Took family to Logan while over there tll I got housing. 1959 Found house; got family to Okinawa in May, toured island; Couns. in Group Leadership 4 mo. Then put in Sunday School Leadership. 1960 President Eisenhower visited Okinawa on a very rainy day. Did inspection of projects for base installations til I moved to Headquarters Graphic Presentations and to my own drafting section. 1961 Forecast to return to U.S. Oct. Linda had Chicken Pox, Stephen a little later. Got assignment to Holloman AFB N.M. Visited Ieshima before we left, Also visited Japan 3 days, Flew vis Flying Tigers Airlines to Travis, Cal. Drove to Reno. Visited Dean. On to Idaho, Utah, and New Mexico. Assigned Test track at Holloman, Visited many scenic places in area. 1962 Linda having ear problems so was on. Made Stake Missionary. Attended NCO Academy at Kirtland AFB 6 weeks. Car wreck, repairs etc. Visited Carlsbad Caverns; had gall bladder problems. 1963 Was operated on for removal of gall bladder in Jan. Started working at movie theaters in Alamogordo. Dad died, 1 June. Oct. Non Walz died. 1964 Hospitalized for ulcers in 16 days. Esther had back trouble. Linda had ear trouble, She was operated on. Still working at theaters, all enjoyed free movies. 1965 Baptized Stephen, confirmed next day. Training for computers with electricity course. Applied for changing fields & was accepted. Moved to Kirtland AFB N. M. Vacationed L. A. 1966 Moved into base housing. Went TDY to Nebraska for 2 mo. Went TDY to Valley City, N. D. Returned to Kirtland in Aug., called on Stake Mission. 1967 Teaching a girl investigator, was baptized. Delivered fire wood for church. Retired. Looked for work. Finally settled for Lockheed; moved to Campbell, Cal. Bought a house. 1968 Moved to Computer Operation at Lockheed. Laid off in March. Work scarce. Job at Title Insurance. 1969 Laid off. Worked at Aupex 2 mo. Flew back to Iren's funeral between jobs. 1970 Worked at 4 different jobs during year; Started at Union School District subbing; Have diabetes. 1971 Started working a a custodian at 2 schools at night. Bought a 67 Dodge & visited Disneyland and friends in area. Visited Yosemite in summer 4 days. Diabetes is controlled by diet. Started cleaning apartments on side. Stephen helps. 1972 Took vacation to Ut, Id, Spokane, Grand Coulee Dam,Yakima, Portland and down the coast to home. Stephen walked through glass door and got cut up quite a bit. 1973 Linda graduated from High School. Working at a variety store. I started working days. 1974 Made a Stake Missionary. Esther and I had first vacation together since Okinawa, Nice!. 1976 Had a nice vacation camping near Grass Valley and Kings Canyon. Ordained a High Priest after 37 years as a 70. Stephen decided to go on a mission. 1977 Stephen got call to go to Greensboro, N.C. Mission. Left in April.
