Joseph H Kneisly

**JOSEPH...Civil War Soldier: Company E 79th Pennsylvania Volunteers..Enlisted July 1862 & was discharged in 1865. Joseph served on the Union side. Co E 79th Reg., PA Infantry. He first married Leah H Huber on Feb 14 1867 & had a son, she passed away June 1869. He then married Adaline Mary Cover Oct 16 1869. Joseph & Adaline had 7 children. Joseph was the son of Levi & Elizabeth Houghentogler Kneisly. He was preceded in death by a half brother, John Kneisly & is survived by a half brother, Levi B Kneisly & a sister, Annie H Kneisley. Jospeh was a well known gardener & was engaged in selling & transporting produce & merch. between Hagerstown & Halfway. He passed from Bright's disease. (Bright's disease is a historical classification of kidney diseases that would be described in modern medicine as acute or chronic nephritis).
