Prominent Fayette County Man Called To Rest: Smithfield, Jan 27.- Capt James Abraham died in his home in Nicholson Township Jan 23, 1903. He was 73. He suffered many weeks from stomach trouble & for the past 3 wks was unable to eat. Capt Abraham was the last of his generation of well known Abraham family. He was the son of the late James & Mary Jobes Abraham and was born Nov 14, 1830. His father served in the war of 1812, in Captain McClelland's Co. May 16,1848 he married Janet, daughter of Capt & Mrs James O'Donovan and six children survive; William R., Mary M. wife of W.S. Nixon of Fairchance; Lucy, wife of Dr. Trippett of Brandonville; David, Petrie J. Jones R.; three are dead; Roy, Hayes and Birdie.
Captain Abraham is also survived by one brother, 'Squire A. Jones Abraham of Uniontown, who is the last surviving of 11 children of James & Mary Abraham, his other brothers & sisters being, Sarah Rogers, Major Isaac M, Aaron Jones, Jane Hague, Elizabeth, Mary Enoch, James, Caroline & William.
