Jessie married Joseph Bates (1844-1906) in NZ in 1882 & had 12 children.
She died at the residence of their daughter, (as on her headstone), Jessie Louisa Bates (1884-1972) who married Richard Humphrey Williams in 1905.
Joseph died at his residence 'Windsor' in Oamaru 15 Feb 1906 aged 61. Jessie had moved to Masterton only 12 months prior to her death and lived with her daughter in Worksop Rd.
