Isabella Wilson

Aunt Bella was one of the sweetest, most gentle ladies I ever remember. She is a sister to my Grandma Jeanette and lived in Grandma and Grandpa's house when I was a child. She never had much in the way of earthly possessions but was a treasure to the family. Born with a severe club foot, which these days could easily have been corrected, kept her from being active as she got older. i mostly remember her sitting in a wheelchair, her purse at her side. She was good-naturedly teased about keeping her money safe. The truth was that she often needed a tissue. As a young child she had had a high fever that left her with a partly paralyzed eye and mouth. For that reason she was generally photographed from the side. She was beautiful to us but sadly the world did not see it that way and was in fact asked not to attend school after the illness. At the cemetery after Aunt Bella's funeral, Grandma slipped on wet grass and got muddy. She got up laughing and said how much Bella would loved to have seen that.
