Underneath lie the remains of Hugh Boyd Mackay of Knockmore, Esq. who departed this life on the 2nd day of June 1848 in the 70th year of his age. Also the remains of Sarah Mackay his wife, daughter of the Rev. Charles Douglas of Dervock who departed this life on the 2nd day of August 1825 aged 19 years. Beside them are buried seven of their children. He died as he lived an upright and sincere friend. This stone was erected by Daniel Mackay in memory of his kind and affectionate parents.
