Ann Lillian Berry was 30 minutes old. She was the base-born daughter of Mabel Lillian Latham Berry (1903-1944) who married Gordon Alexander Adamson in 1922, had 9 children and is buried in Waimate. Mabel was a daughter or Percy George Berry & Lily Alice Hare.

Mr HERBERT BEALE

* Herbert married Catherine Martin in 1896 and had a daughter May Catherine Beale (1898-1978) & Gordon Herbert Beale (1902-1972). The connection to little Ann Berry, who has a footstone on Herbert's grave (Plot HB, Row 7, Plan VI) is unknown at this time.

.. The friends of Mr Herbert Beale will regret to learn that he passed away at about 9 o'clock last evening in the Masterton Hospital. The late Mr Beale had been a resident of Masterton for over 25 years, during which period he carried on a plumbing, tin-smithing and hardware business. As an official and trustee of the Masterton Methodist Church he was a painstaking enthusiast, the work connected with the office being a labour of love. The late Mr Beale was also a bowler and also took a keen interest in the bee-keeping industry, He was honest, upright and straight in his business and in private life and those who have come into contact with him all have a good word for the deceased gentleman. A short while ago the late Mr Beale was stricken down and never rallied. He was 52 years of age. A widow and a grown-up son and daughter are left to mourn their loss and to these general sympathy will be extended.
