My first remembrance of Hannah Valgardson was of her teaching me in Sunday School in the old 5th ward meeting house on Spanish Fork's Center street. It was in the 1950's and our classroom was, as I remember, the one that was right above the front door of the church house. It was a very small room. She was a wonderful teacher and my favorite memory was when she brought an angel food cake, that she made, no doubt, to her Sunday school class to commemorate our Prophet Joseph Smith's birthday. YUM. I also remember that she ran THE SOCIAL CENTER in Spanish Fork. As I remember it was about 1 block south of the 5th ward meeting house. She made the BEST food. I remember we celebrated my grandma Aurilla Shepherd Vest's 80th birthday at the Social Center. Hannah was a beautiful woman with the prettiest red/auburn hair. I can see her face in my mind and remember the beautiful smile she seemed to always have. Hannah is one of the special memories I have of growing up in Spanish Fork, Utah.
