Description
daughter of Horace Michael Connell Fitzsimmons (1883-) & Ivy Mabel Laing (1886-1953). After her parents separated in 1916, Gwen went to live with her aunty, (Horace's sister Emily Catherine Fitzsimmons) & her husband George Leonard Braggins at Mauriceville (both buried Archer Street).

The death under an operation took place at the Masterton hospital yesterday of Gwendoline Fitzsimmons, aged nine years, the daughter of Mr and Mrs Horace Fitzsimmons of Wanganui. The little girl was a niece of Mrs George Braggins, of Mauriceville and about a fortnight ago she came down to reside with her aunt. A few days after her arrival she became seriously ill and Dr Maunsell advised her removal to the Masterton hospital. An operation was performed four or five days ago, but she became gradually worse and a second operation was being performed yesterday when she succumbed.
