Guido was a resident of Colfax County, New Mexico. He was "killed in action" during WWII. He served with Battery E of the 200th Coast Artillery Corps. He had been surrendered in the Philippines and taken prisoner. He survived the Bataan Death March but died during sinking of the "Hell Ship" Arisan Maru. The Arisan Maru was unmarked as a POW carrier and was hit by an American torpedo. POWs not killed by the torpedo were executed by the Japanese or left to drown
