Tom was a son of George Molineux Browne (1880-1946), born London & Mary May 'Molly' Chamberlain (1886-1970), born South Africa. He served as Sergeant 40201 with the Royal NZ Air Force, 37 Squadron, RAF. His parents were living in Featherston at the that time. He was killed in action over the English Channel during the Battle of Britain and his memorial is at Runnymede, Surrey, UK
