**ROBERT...Robert Alms, 89, of Uniontown, Pa, passed away Feb 3, 2006, at Cherry Tree Nursing Center. He was born Feb 2, 1917, in Uniontown, Pa, the son of Harry Alms & Laura McKelvey Alms. (((Robert served as an engineer in the US Air Force during WWII in the Pacific Theater. He earned his wings at Bergstone Fields, TX. He was a Crew Chief on C-46 & C-47 Troop Carriers, 22nd Troop Carrier Squadron. He earned five Battle Stars.))) Robert was formerly employed by the Hagan Ice Cream Co in Uniontown for 35 yrs. Robert was a member of Asbury United Methodist Church, where he was an usher, and was also a member of Local Teamsters 491 & Veterans of Foreign Wars Post #47. He was preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Emma Adams Alms, brother Ned. Robert is survived by many nieces & nephews. The Herald Standard, Uniontown, PA.
