    Description

    Emily was 1 of 12 children of Stephen Alpass (1812-1883) & Maria Parslow (1827-1909). She married James Clark Alpass (1856-1933) in NZ in 1879. They had 2 sons, James Steven John 'Jimmy' Alpass & Milton Seymour Alpass. Husband James died in a Nursing Home in Gloucestershire, England. Emily is buried here with her son James and 2 of her brothers, Stephen & Milton.

    Under the will of a former resident of Masterton, Mr James Clark Alpass, who died in England last year, £200, free of all duties, is bequeathed to the Masterton Borough Council, to be expended in the purchase of books of reference for the Masterton Public Library. Free access to same is to be given to the public and the gift is to be called after the name of Mr Alpass.
