Lieut. Colonel EDMUND BURD

Late 93rd BURMA INFANTRY.I.A.

He formed the PUTAO Batt. B.M.P. 1914

Was Wounded at Loos 1915

Raised The Burmah Batt for Active Service 1917

and from it formed The 3/20 Burma Rifles 1921

which he Commanded until his death at

RANGOON Feb 24th 1926 aged 46

Resulting from Wounds & Illness

Contracted on Active Service.

And of his Beloved Wife ESTHER MARY

Eldest daughter of Dr and Mrs G.V. BURD

of Okehampton

Who died on the 25th July 1961, aged 66
