08/29/2017Dorothy Ann (Sherman) Malo, 63, of Woodville Alton Road, Wood River Junction, died peacefully on Thursday evening, Nov. 11, 2010, at her home surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of Robert E. Malo.
Born in Westerly, R.I. on Feb. 8, 1947, she was the daughter of the late Wilbert and Lena (Briggs) Sherman.
Dorothy was employed at the Westerly Nursing Home for many years.
She enjoyed spending time with her family and grandchildren, cooking and gardening at her home. She was an avid Boston Red Sox fan and New England Patriots Fan. She also enjoyed NASCAR and NHRA drag racing.
Besides her husband, Dorothy will be sadly missed by her children, Brian K. Malo of Alton, R.I., Michael A. Malo of Guilford, Conn., and Craig D. Malo and his wife Terry Malo of Alton. She was the loving grandmother of 11 and great-grandmother of 10. She also leaves her brothers and sisters, Wilbert Sherman Jr. of Wood River Junction, Wendy Logan of Charlestown, R.I., David Sherman of Hope Valley, R.I., Tracey Sherman of Alton, Bradley Sherman of Charlestown, and many nieces and nephews.
She was the sister of the late Shirley Caswell and Lori Sherman.
She also leaves her beloved best friend, her dog Remy, and her grand dog Dozer.
Funeral service will be held on Monday at 2 p.m. in the S.R. Avery Funeral Home, Main Street, Hope Valley. A calling hour will precede the service from 1 to 2 p.m. Burial will follow in the Rockville Cemetery.
