Description

Dorothea is the illegitimate daughter of King James II. Her headstone is said to have been erected in 1713 by Queen Anne, her half sister. On the headstone is the Stuart Coat of Arms and a Fleur de Lys. Dorothea was born to farmers, married to Mr. Ross, merchant of Coleraine. She died in her 20s, possibly during childbirth.
