Choir

Contributor: Todd Millett Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

When Darla and I (Nannette) were in High School we both sang in the High School choir. One of the grade requirements was to participate in Regional Solo and Ensemble. I did not feel comfortable singing with anyone else but my sister Darla, so for two years she sang a duet with me. It was not till a few years later that I realized how much of a sacrifice this was for her, yet she did it because she loved me.

Redd Sisters in Red

Contributor: Todd Millett Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

In Fall 2000, Millicent rallied her sisters together to get a picture of them in red for their parents' Christmas gift. On Christmas Day Millicent’s sisters unwrapped their gift from her to see this picture in this frame. It was a special gift to have all the sisters pictured together in such a nice frame. But perhaps it became more special and more appreciated in time to have this picture of all the sisters together because that following summer Darla died.

Advice

Contributor: Todd Millett Created: 1 year ago Updated: 1 year ago

Darla wrote me some advice in a letter between 1999-2000. I no longer have the letter but want to keep alive the message she shared. Her advice was to visit grandparents more. She suggested taking homework over to their home and doing it there in order to have more opportunity for association with them.
