Obituary for Clidene McEntire Campbell

ST. GEORGE, UT - Clidene McEntire Campbell, 68, passed away peacefully at her home, surrounded by her loving family, Saturday, May 28, 2005. She was born December 14, 1936 in Toquerville, Utah to Clide Franklin and Orlene Bringhurst McEntire. She married Jay Bybee Campbell February 21, 1953 and they were later sealed in the St. George Temple. Family vacations with her children were an important part of her life. Later in life she and her husband enjoyed traveling to many places including Egypt. Clidene was an active member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints. She served in many church callings, including Relief Society Presidency, Stake Young Women's Presidency and she was famous for her delicious ward dinners. Her greatest calling was her family. She is survived by the "love of her life" her husband Jay Bybee Campbell; her seven children, Roger (Jane) Campbell, Jaylene (Leinor) Topham, Kathleen (Dale) Clark, Linda (Delbert) Staheli, Brenda (Brent) Wilson, Lamar (Laneice) Campbell, Kay (Shannon) Campbell; 49 grandchildren; 26 great grandchildren; and brothers, Dr. Larry McEntire and William Chadburn. She was preceded in death by her parents, a sister Helen and two great grandsons. Funeral services will be held Wednesday, June 1, 2005, 11 a.m., St. George East Stake Center, 449 S. 300 E. (across the street from the temple). Viewings will be held Tuesday, May 31, 2005, 6-8 p.m., Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd. and Wednesday, 9:30-10:30 a.m., prior to services at the East Stake Center. Interment will be in the St. George City cemetery under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary (435) 673-4221. Condolences may be sent through the Metcalf website at www.metcalfmortuary.com. Our family would like to thank Hospice for the efficient and loving care they gave to our wife and mother these past few months. Originally published May 30, 2005
