Charles "Max" Measom
Our loving dad, grandfather, great grandfather, brother, and friend, Charles "Max" Measom, 81, of Mt. Pleasant, left this world to begin his journey "just around that next corner" on December 30, 2005, at Heritage Hills Care Center in Nephi. Max was surrounded by his loving daughters.
He was born in Springville, Utah, to Charles Henry and Helen Harrison Measom on June 17, 1924. Max married the love of his life, Cleo Ethel Haddock, on June 9, 1945, and from that loving relationship came five daughters. Cleo passed away on August 17, 1974. Max later married Genie Evans. She passed away in 1999.
Max graduated from Springville High School in 1942, after which he became a well-known and respected body and fender mechanic. He was a great outdoorsman, who enjoyed fishing and staying at the Strawberry cabin with family and friends.
Max is survived by daughters: Maxine (Tom) Thurston, of Orem; Diane (Cory) Trotter, of Provo; Karen (Jim) Hone, of St. George; Dawn (Lloyd) Warren, of St. George; and Beth (Matt) Draper, of Mt. Pleasant; brothers: Karl (Laverne) Measom, and Jack (Leah) Measom; sister, Shirley (Bill-deceased) Baker; 24 grandchildren; and 51 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, wives, and one grandchild.
"Grandpa Max, you'll be missed, but not forgotten."
Graveside services will be held Tuesday, January 3, 2006, at 11 a.m., in the Pleasant Grove City Cemetery, under the direction of Rasmussen Mortuary.
