Catherine Walaitis was 18 years old when Adolf Hitler signs an order to begin the systematic euthanasia of mentally ill and disabled people. As dictator, Hitler initiated World War II in Europe with the invasion of Poland in September 1939, and was central to the Holocaust.
Catherine Walaitis was 24 years old when World War II: Nagasaki is devastated when an atomic bomb, Fat Man, is dropped by the United States B-29 Bockscar.
