BLAIR REED JOHNSON, a son and second child of Gilbert Yearn Johnson and [mother's name redacted], was born 9 Sept 1918, at Palmyra, Utah. Bpt. 7 Nov 1926, End. 9 Feb 1950, SL, BIC.
He went to school at the Spanish Fork Rees, Central Junior High and High School. He graduated 1936.
He worked at Del Monte Canning Factory at Spanish Fork, Utah, and in the CCC Camps in Provo, Utah. He joined the Utah National Guard at Spanish Fork, Utah. About two years before World War II broke out, Blair enlisted in an over-seas duty in the army. He was stationed in the Philippines Islands at Corredigor. When the Japanese captured Corregidor, Blair was taken prisoner by the Japanese. He was killed on a prisoner of war ship while being transferred to the Japanese main land by an American Submarine 24 Oct 1944, in the South Pacific Ocean.
His father did his temple work in the Salt Lake Temple, 9 Feb 1950.
