They were siblings of Hector Edward Gardner ..

Kate Adele Hardwick married Hector Edward Gardner in 1898 & had 2 children. Hector was 1 of 16? children of George Gardner & Rebecca Pearson and was a partner in their sawmilling firm, Gardner & Son in Turangarere where he was working when he died of diphtheria, 29 Jan 1910 aged 33. His funeral left from his sister Fanny's home in Essex St. A year later, on the night of 20 Feb 1911, wife Kate attacked their children then suicided (Essex St). Son Gerald survived (1900-1986), daughter Beryl survived until July
